7 years ago @OrbitalMechanic this is probably an issue of having mixed conda-forge and defaut dependencies, although not sure which one is causing the issue

7 years ago I looks as if the safe way to proceed is to reinstall Anaconda for Python 2.7 and Python 3.5 from scratch. What is the procedure to remove all vestiges of Anaconda so that one can cleanly reinstall Anaconda?

6 years ago @OrbitalMechanic you should just remove the anaconda folder, and that should be it. Maybe you could also delete de .anaconda and .condarc files within your user folder.
