JetEngine > Filter Listing Grid on zoom/pan Map Listing #1894

If we look at the BaliRento Catalog Map 1 Page, we have SmartFilters, a Listing Grid, and a Map Listing widgets.

The SmartFilters work great at filtering both Listing Grid and Map Listing together - Great user experience ✅ if you click on a Listing item (apartment), the Map Lisitng shows where that item is located - Great user experience ✅ if you zoom/pan the Map Listing to a specific area, the Listing Grid doesn't update accordingly - Bad user experience ❌

In other words, the map doens't search/filter as you move it around.

Airbnb has this functionality in place on their search page. See example here

How did you make the listings in the map automatically show and the map move when you hover? Is that modified with CSS/JS?

Rubenzella commented 4 years ago

Hi there,

From the listing loop, go in settings and select how you want the listing to behave (link source).

Cheers

Yes, needed

The Zoom and Pan feature would be GREAT!

A proximity search would be much appreciated too, and being able to do 2+ proximity searches on the same map would be AMAZING!

Totally agree with the original request. FACETWP among other Crocoblock competitors have this option https://facetwp.com/add-ons/map-facet/. For me it is a must have. Thanks !

Hi, yes +1! It would be great to have the map function as a filter for the loop. I think it is an important feature. Booking.com has the same functionality and it is a becoming an common default map functionality.

I believe that you can properly code this because you have the map boundaries (min/Max lat. and long.) and you have the marker coordinates. If those coordinates are between the boundaries > show on listing loop.

Jetsmartfilters proximity search on map listing and listing grid is a definite need.

Hi @Rubenzella, sorry for tapping in to this old thread. I've been trying to achieve the same where I have a listing grid and a listing map side by side. I'm unable to find the settings to link the listing grid with the listing map so that the map changes when you hover or click on a grid item. You mentioned "From the listing loop, go in settings and select how you want the listing to behave (link source)." - could you please provide more info on where to find these settings? Much appreciated!

Hi mate, give an ID to your listing grid (Advanced > CSS ID) and then reference it in the filters under "Additional Providers". Make sure the filters are set to JetEngine Maps. Open the listing item and then in settings (cog icon at the bottom left corner) find the link source option. There you can select to open the listing popup on click or hover.

If you need more help, reach out!

Any update on this @Crocoblock? If you can offer the option to Filter the Listing Grid on zoom/pan of the Map you'll offer better functionality than Listify and Listing Pro.
