According to the instructions, it should be possible to use Intel compilers, but the makefile doesn't have Intel in the list of supported C/C++ compilers. Which is correct?

Yeah it should probably have those as well. they must of gotten removed at some point for some reason. It would be good to see if they still work.

The C compilers are for the HDF5 build so it could be that the intel c compilers didn't play nice with HDF5
