I was curious if you had considered using these installers, rather than extracting the drivers from the ISO and installing with pnputil. It might save you some work in future versions. As an added bonus, the installer creates a VirtIO-FS Service, which would solve #12.
Just a thought. I appreciate all your work maintaining this package in any form!
Recently I realized that, despite the name,
virtio-win-gt-x64.msi
(andvirtio-win-gt-x86.msi
) are driver installers built from virtio-win-drivers-installer and do not install any guest tools/agents (unlikevirtio-win-guest-tools.exe
built from virtio-win-installers-bundler).I was curious if you had considered using these installers, rather than extracting the drivers from the ISO and installing with pnputil. P.S. In case it's useful, I also realized the installers support
ADDLOCAL
to choose which drivers to install.
