Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opening any .MKV File (with Video+Audio)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
During tho open process I see a progress windows showing:
Getting media info...
Caching...
Audio Demuxing...
Caching...

After that, it ends with the error "Unable to load function: (OptimFROG.ddl)".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
5.0.37.8 SVN Revision 132

Please provide any additional information below.
There are no problems in loading other filetypes (like .AVI).

I made a mistake about the problem description.
The load error is for OptimFROG.dll (and not 'ddl') !!

When I select the 'Decode' option from the File menu (instead of 'Open'), the
.MKV is decoded without any problem.

I looked into issue#3 and removed the file bass_ofr.dll (as described there in
option 1).
Now, I get another error message when I try to open an MKV file:
FFmpegSource: Can't create decompressor: Unsupported compression method.

The 'Decode file' option works without problems on this file and the file can
be played without problems in Windows Media Player (and other players as well).

How can I figure out which compression method is used and why it is unsupported
??

"FFmpegSource: Can't create decompressor: Unsupported compression method." -
this is error message from the FFmpegSource1. You better switch to
FFmpegSource2 (Video->Decoding->FFmpegSource), and also update this plugin to
recent version: http://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/downloads/list , you need
ffmpegsource-2.14.7z or multi-threaded version ffmpegsource-2.14-mt.7z , just
replace FFMS2.dll in the ":\Program
Files\Winnydows\XviD4PSP5\dlls\AviSynth\plugins" folder.

Comment #5 worked for me, too. Experienced same issue as Comment #4.
Downloaded ffmpegsource-2.15.7z instead of ffmpegsource-2.14.7z, extracted
contents, and pasted FFMS2.dll. Thanks for the walkthrough!
