6 years ago I am a big fan of hardware encoders. This is much easier to use and requires much less setup. They would also be much better for any offsite/on-location live streaming anyone would need to do. Camera to encoder via HDMI. It's small, compact, battery powered, and can sit directly on top of a camera. Encoder can stream to facebook. youtube. twitch, ect. It can connect to the internets via wifi, hardwire, and even use your cell phone's internet connection if you are in a location that doesn't have internet. These are robust pro quality, I have used them for live broadcasts from remote locations for ESPN, and several news channels.
