The current administration has been scaling up immigration law enforcement and also want to increase immigration enforcement by a further 4 billion dollars. Is this an efficient use of taxpayer dollars?

FY 2018 DHS Budget (Proposed): https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/DHS%20FY18%20BIB%20Final.pdf

Highlights, only 7.1% overall increase to DHS budget, but cuts to many of the parts the organization, and a 29.1% increase to ICE, Customs, and other immigration related parts of the org.
