Input lag on left joycon

Describe the bug I've been experiencing slight input delay on the directional input on the left joy-con (could be on other buttons too, but I've only noticed it with that so far): it doesn't seem to register me releasing the button/stick until a few frames later, which turns slight button taps into longer ones and screws with the control feel (if that makes sense?). I don't experience this when using something like xJoy for instance.
