NFC is the German version of the widely known UFC, an organization in charge of the ultimate fighting league in Germany. Ultimate fighting or mixed martial arts is a very popular fighting sport that experienced an enormous upswing in recent years.

What are we trying to achieve with this sponsoring:
DeFiChain has been historically very strong in the German market, a market that hasn’t been in focus for marketing activities as of recently. This CFP and sponsoring opportunity will address that and further build on the strong German community.
Market Research done by agencies DeFiChain Accelerator worked with show that crypto people are highly interested in gaming, basketball, fighting sports and drone racing. The opportunity to sponsor the biggest German MMA league offers us the chance to attract more crypto-interested people to DeFiChain in DeFiChains strongest market.
In addition, the DeFiChain still suffers from the dUSD depeg, for which good and helpful measures were introduced. Besides these measures, bringing new capital into the ecosystem is vital to further stabilize the system. By leveraging NFCs social presence and live events with the measures we have planned we would directly push people to download the wallet and follow us on our socials. With in the long-run leads to more investors into DeFiChain.
Another problem is that we need to work on becoming „cool“. This may seem like a strange argument at first glance, especially since I really appreciate our community and I think we have wonderful people in our ranks who are helpful, intelligent, ambitious, and have the right values. That said, I think we need to work on our image. We are a community that has an incredible amount to offer if you are willing to invest time. But if you only take a superficial look at us, you might come to the conclusion that a group of nerds is building around a complicated project. The NFC already has a very „cool“ appearance that we can certainly benefit from. A good example of this is how the Accelerator team is collaborating with channels like “The Sickos” to attach a certain image to DeFiChain. NFC will serve the same purpose.
DeFiChain is still too complicated. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it...but it's hard to change anything about it. It takes time and patience and also lots of help from experienced community members to understand most of the technical aspects of our blockchain. In addition, I've been noticing lately how difficult it is to empathize with someone who hasn't had any touch points with DeFiChain and wants to get started with it. Andreas and Michael from the NFC told us that they really appreciate us, but that we still have significant room for improvement in explaining to people what we're doing in the first place. I think they are right!
What we are planning to do:
There will be 6 NFC events in 2023, of which we will sponsor 5 events.
We want to sponsor a "Fight Of The Night Bonus" of 5000€ per fighter for the best fight of the evening. This will not be paid in Euros or Dollars as usual in promotional events, but directly in DFI. The big advantage for us: Every fighter needs a Light Wallet, otherwise he/she can't get his/her bonus.
Our logo will be visible inside the ring, like shown in the pictures we took during the event in Düsseldorf. .
Advertising via Instagram and all other social media platforms including shoutouts from the fighters
There will be videos explaining what DeFiChain is and how to use the Light Wallet.
Fighters will be accompanied by a camera crew after they receive their Fight Of The Night bonus, so you can see what they did with their bonus afterwards. Fighters can tell what dreams they were able to fulfill through DeFiChain.. There will also be fighters who leave part of their bonus on DeFiChain and use it to invest in stocks or do liquidity mining.
The NFC helps us work on our image. We are DeFighters...so it makes sense to get closer to the martial arts scene.

The Fight Of The Night bonus of 2x5000€ per event is already included. To have enough capital even with tax (12,5% in Cyprus), swap fees, disbursement fees, for now still unforeseeable possible costs and fluctuating DFI prices, we calculate with 400,000 DFI.
Fabio was instrumental in the negotiations and provided me with uninterrupted good advice, but because of Cake employment he is not charging DFI for his work. He deserves great respect for this.
Accelerator Team receives 45,000 DFI for assisting with the CFP and supporting the execution of the marketing measures.

With Andreas and Michael we have two business partners who are not only interested in our money, but really in our community and in our product. You can see that not only in the fact that they showed us their trust in advance by giving us a free sponsorship for the event on 17.12.2022, but also in the open and appreciative way we came to our deal. As mentioned before, studies have shown that there is a great correlation between martial arts and cryptocurrencies in terms of interest. Thus, our sponsorship is hitting a mark in attracting new investors.
Michael and Andreas will conduct an evaluation at the events so that we know how effective our sponsorship will be. The way this works is that they did a survey during the Düsseldorf event about DeFiChains active and passive brand awareness with the audience and will rerun this survey on every following event to check the changes in brand awareness.
There will be many prominent people at the events. I will try to get in touch with as many of them as possible and convince them of DeFiChain, for example by simply sending them 100 DFI on the Light Wallet so that they can try it out, etc.
Andreas has agreed to present our common idea to the community in the form of an interview or a Twitter Space.
