Hello Desdaemon, I'm currently working on an optimized international keyboard layout (Optin). For optimizing, I will use the same optimizer that you used and try to find an optimum for the 20 most spoken languages, including Vietnamese. It is the mother tongue of more than 100 million people and therefore ranked 10th of the most spoken mother tongues in the world.

To me it seems that the fastest way to type in Vietnamese might be Telex. How did you optimize your keyboard for the Vietnamese language? I would be very grateful if you could help me to appropriately and correctly take the Vietnamese language into account when creating Optin.

@Desdaemon thank you for your fast reply. I already found the Vietnamese Colemak-thread you most likely referred to. I will check it later in detail: https://forum.colemak.com/topic/2389-vietnamese-colemak/ The conversion script is nice to have, because the "Ersatz"-entry in the standard.cfg file can not replace a two-part-character like "Ưỡ" = "Wo" " Ersatz 'ƯỡWo' " would replace Ư with ỡWo, as it does only replace the first character. So your tool is really nice. Thank you :)

@Desdaemon I modified the conversion script for Chinese Pinyin. Worked like a charm! :+1: Really surprised how "optimal" the Chinese language is for typing. Never seen anything close to those results before: https://opt-in-layout.org/download/file.php?id=11 0.078% collisions, 73.7% hand alternation and 74.9% on home row. Nice. As soon as I get to Vietnamese, I'll get back to you.
