There seem to be be several different options e.g. https://www.safetyshop.com/first-aid-supplies/first-aid-room/emergency-eye-wash. @Sean-anotherone if possible could you please comment on which is most suitable

@JackiePease These products seem rather expensive compared to my experience. For example a 500ml bottle with eye cap (500ml option for this product https://www.safetyshop.com/plum-saline-eye-wash-solution.html#FLLTY ) is £22.24 / £23.99 (seem to be 2 prices?)

This 500ml saline solution eyewash with eye cap is £6.50 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reliwash-2990-Eyewash-Bottle-Eye/dp/B073PCDYY5 This one which also has a buffer solution is £9.71 https://www.medisave.co.uk/reliance-redcap-eye-wash-and-skin-flush-including-eyebath-cap.html

Hi, eyewash is just ~0.9% w/v saline solution. Those prices are completely absurd.  The purpose is to irrigate any thing nasty out of the eye, nothing fancy required.  This type are twist-to-open and double up as wound wash solutions. I would suggest getting a few of these, but don't get too many, they have a use by date and they typically go  out of date before they get opened.  People seem reluctant to use them unless they are over a sink.  Human behaviour, go figure.  2 packs of 2 might be a good number, i.e.  2 bottles in use, 2 in reserve. These are 4 for £10.20, still expensive for what it is but the best I found. Qty 2 Large EYEWASH STERILE SALINE 500ml BOTTLE Eye Wash & Wound Solution | eBay

They should be readily available at point of need - I suggest one in the laser room and one in the cnc-machine room.   I'll make some stations if someone reminds me next time I'm about, just a simple shelf with a mirror tile and something to keep the dust off the bottle.

anyone got a small mirror, or any mirror tiles that can be used to make a full eyewash station? Sean On Saturday, 25 April 2020, 17:14:13 BST, Jackie Pease notifications@github.com wrote:

Given no-one has come forward to donate some small mirrors, we should just buy some. What sort of size would you suggest @Sean-anotherone? Something like 10-15cm square?

Sean-anotherone commented 1 year ago

I'd suggest a foot square, mostly because I'm looking at two of them right now, left over from my bathroom...

@Sean-anotherone has added the mirrors. Just needs shelves for the bottles
