Receive shadows is on (only in debug mode?) but no shadows #84

Describe the bug Hello, we are using flat kit for most of our game including the ground terrain. Receive shadows checkbox doesn't appear in the inspector mesh component anymore but once you go to debug mode it is there and it is checked. Our surface still does not show any shadows. Using the URP Lit shader shadows do show.

To Reproduce Flat Kit using Stylized Surface

Expected behavior See shadows.

Hi, thank you for reporting this.

Before I try reproducing your issue, could you please verify that it happens in a more recent version of Unity? — the version of Unity you have listed (2021.2.9f1) is lower than a minimum required version (2021.3.0). You can see the requirements on the Asset Store page under the Render Pipeline compatibility chart. Here's a screenshot:

Hi again,

We can't replicate this issue so far. Please provide more information to help us debug this:

As for the "Receive Shadows" toggle - the same functionality is included in the "Mode" dropdown under "Unity Built-in Shadows". The mode "None" corresponds to not receiving shadows.

Hi!

Apologies for the delayed response. Right now we can't upgrade our unity version since it tends to break a lot of stuff until over the weekend. Let me follow up on your suggestions besides the Unity one. Thanks so much for the help, top notch customer support!

Alina

  • Do shadows display in any of the demos included with the asset?
  • Do shadows work if the mode is changed from "Color" to "Multiply"
  • Have you tried creating a new material?
