At the moment, the only function that provides the option for loading multiple data types is the make_boundary(). I'm thinking of creating an extra function that allows to load the multiple data types that we have discussed:
[x] .shp, .gpkg, .geojson: sf
[x] .tif, .tiff, .gri, .grd: terra
[ ] .nc, .hdf:stars or terra
[ ] .sqlite: RSQLite
[x] through postgres connection: DBI with RPostgres
