I have exactly the same problem, and really need to know what to do.

I feel it is in throttle failsafe or flight mode but still stuck on ground.
Let's hope somebody can help.

Flight mode was in Loiter; I changed to Manual and problem gone.

I had an unexpected startup today on the ground shortly after power up. My
transmitter was on and switches were set to Stabilize mode. I suspect it had
something to do with the 1-sec and 20-sec failsafes (which I had enabled). I
had thought those were related to the Circle and RTL actions upon Throttle
Failsafe (which I checked). Now I wonder if they (1 & 20) might refer solely to
GCS/Telem failsafe (which I did not check). Either way, I would like to see a
better description of failsafe options in the Wiki.

I'm only adding to this issue (instead of starting a new one) because my
problem happens 30 seconds after start up as well so maybe the failsafe is part
of the problem but this one freaks me out so I can't test today like I wanted
unless I can fix this. But my confidence is crushed as I put this on a nice
plane that I would hate to lose to a malfunction. What happens is when I power
up in manual mode after 30 seconds the servos start to wack out, moving
suddenly then they stop but I've lost all manual control except for the rudder.
This would obviouly result in a terrible crash should I have not discovered
this during testing on the ground. If I flip to another mode even for a split
second all control returns in manual mode too so that may help someone figure
out what is going on. Manual control should always work in a product like this
so unless someone can spell out why this is happening with confidence along
with a fix I may have to take this off my good plane and perhaps try it will a
cheap one first.

After thinking about it for a while I became convinced it had to do with the
failsafe function and so I went back to look at those settings with the intent
to disable the failsafe and see if the problem went away. Low and behold I
found a newly added item for failsafe, if ground station disconnects. Well of
course I wasn't connected to a ground station! I don't have a radio modem!
Changing that setting fixed the problem but that ought to be automatic if there
is no radio connected. Jeez, lots of people could crash a plane with that one.
Glad it's fixed anyway but too late to fly today and of course it's going to be
crappy weather for the rest of my week off!
