Sorry to get back late, a few clean-up's before we merge:

[x] remove DS_Store and notebook
[x] change readme code highlight to R

I'm merging this PR, but @EchoRLiu please take a look at the updated .gitignore, see if you recognize the files at the top of the .gitignore file.
