What happened to the Curseforge page? #7

The Curseforge page seems to have vanished. What happened?

Sven65 commented 4 years ago

It's gone for me too, meaning I can't update my modpack since it depends on this mod.

MakeLord95 commented 4 years ago

His entire Curseforge profile is gone. Not sure why tho

ProsperCraft commented 4 years ago

Good thing this is MIT license- we need a fork ASAP

LeoBeliik commented 4 years ago

I can't find @EdgarAllen anywhere to ask them for permission, I made a spiritual successor for this mod and I could take care of the 1.12 version so people could still use it on modpacks.

ProsperCraft commented 4 years ago

This mod is listed on the third party list because it is open source, I got my pack update approved by doing this-

I opened the jar file, added a blank text file called third party mod.txt then saved it, this changed the file checksum so that twitch didn't associate it with the old project, then it gets included as a mod overide in the exported zip file.

If you want to make it easy, simply download the 4.8 TownCraft modpack(release not beta) and grab the soundmuffer-thirdparty.jar from my mods folder, and use it, it has already made it past curse mods.

I don't know why the project got deleted, it is the most amazing sound muffler mod in the history of Minecraft, and it is much loved by my players. We love you Edgar, and appreciate you making this for us.

@ProsperCraft Jesus that's a process. I heard there was drama about why this was removed? Anyone know more?

Edit Never mind, found out.

LeoBeliik commented 4 years ago

There was drama? @CritFlaw, mind to share?

brisingraerowing commented 4 years ago

There's a revived version now

CritFlaw commented 4 years ago

@BrisingrAerowing That's great, I just made it work with the third party exception but maybe I should switch to this

@LeoBeliik I don't know much about it, but there was some beef with the dev and the EIO devs and the way Forge handles sound events. I don't know the full details but the dev of SSM chose the nuclear option of wiping the earth of his mod. That, or unrelated personal issues caused him to dip. Nobody knows the full story because nobody's been able to contact him.

@EdgarAllen hope everything is ok with you
