Automatic on same fader #409

I'm using Rivendell in the studio for live play-out. When I hit the start button on the mixer on channel 1, a song plays in the playout on channel 1. When I hit the start button of channel 2 on the mixer, a song plays on playout 2. Everything works fine.

But: when I want to set Rivendell to automatic and the current song is playing on channel 1, the second song automatically comes up in channel 2. Is it possible to continue using automatic playout on one fader? Because now both players need to be in start position and fader up...

this sounds like a simple configuration error...why don't you either set your system to a single playout channel, or simply leave the 2nd fader up?

Well, if I set the second fader up as well, it triggers the faderstart, such that, in automatic mode, the current playing track is faded out and the next track is fading in. So to do this: I have to clear the log, set both players in on mode, then load a log and set it to automatic... Not an ideal situation, but the only working one right now... ;-)

In my opinion, the started player should be the channel where all automatic events play out to.

Also: is it possible to make an option to 'link' two tracks (together with my suggestion for the mix-editor), such that only the selected two specific tracks are played automatically and then the 'automatic' mode stops... So for example: I'm playing in Manual mode, select two tracks and link them together using the mix-editor, then, even when I'm using Manual mode, the two linked tracks will be played out like if it was in Automatic mode...

If you have full Rivendell <=> control surface integration configured (it sounds like you do), then the proper surface fader(s) should be switched ON/OFF automatically by Rivendell as needed.

As for the "linking" part of your post, see #384.
