Beacon trilateration is definitely possible.
We don't have any examples at the moment. You can check 3rd party sites on trilateration, check out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20332856/triangulate-example-for-ibeacons http://prezi.com/_d87norw9zk3/indoor-localization/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMWEl6GBGqk https://www.linkedin.com/groups/How-accurate-are-Estimotes-measuring-6510475.S.5839162296210841600 http://www.warski.org/blog/2014/04/inverse-beacon-positioning/
With my first contact with iBeacon technology i think that i have to use as many iBeacons as points in space to control/trigger an action on mobile device.
I have starter kit of 3 Estimote iBeacon. I've tested it and see that distance measuring is not very accurate (signal strength varies even when the distance is still the same, there are many factors that affect this power of course, signal is attenuated by humans, objects etc).
Is for example 3 iBeacons placed on the corners of some place can be used to micro-locate mobile devices in all this space (by measuring distance / signal power / rssi from all iBeacons) or iBeacon technology is not for that purpose ? I need confirmation about that.
Thanks in advance
