The board via the safety team wants to adopt a more muscular approach to the run-hide-fight response to a threat. The idea is to run and hide if possible, but fight if those can't be done. The decision has been made to place a few gel-based pepper sprays at strategic locations about the church, and then to train a subset of congregants and staff on where they are located, when to use them, how to use them and how not to use them. Placement is important - easy to access but not obviously placed. So the idea of little wall-hung cabinets came to mind. Something with a door or little doors into which we could place the spray (and maybe other small items like flashlights etc). We probably would have two in the sanctuary, one in the kitchen/gathering room and one in the office, but that plan is still being formed is open to change. Might you have an interest in taking this up?
