It's just than the filter looks at title and content, not at author list (I didn't even though that people would filter by author).
I believe it's doable. I don't have much time myself but I would accept a Pull Request about that
I hadn't realize that there was an author category; I figured a blacklist would just scan the entire RSS entry for matching text and block if it found a match.
My personal use-case is to block opinion pieces, as I am trying just to receive news stories. The NY Times has a list of opinion authors and I used that as a blacklist. Theweek.com, which has a great RSS feed, only has about half a dozen.
I'm not sure what the best blacklist arrangement is. I saw someone request the ability to blacklist keywords in titles and I would probably use that if it existed, too. But I realize that separate lists for titles, authors and body might get unwieldy.
I have a fairly extensive blacklist, separated by commas. Most of these are authors of the NY times RSS and theweek's RSS. Usually these fail to be blocked. I check that they should have been blocked by copying the text from the article and pasting it into the blacklist and it is identical. Does anyone else use the blacklist feature and is there something I'm doing wrong?
