This is still an issue, I just tested it again with the latest TKG commit. This patch still doesn't apply if I have _steamclient_noswap="false" enabled when using the Wine upstream Proton version (which is "Breakage expected"). It works only if I use _steamclient_noswap="true". The decision to close this issue was made prematurely.
