I am having issues with this. Is pamixer installed when i install pulse audio? Does it have to be installed separately. If yes can you share the link from where it can be installed.

It should be installed when you installed PulseAudio, as it's part of the PulseAudio Utils package.

I looked into what is available in pulseaudio utils package and pamixer does not figure in it. The link I followed is https://helpmanual.io/packages/apt/pulseaudio-utils/
