"Insert space" slows down #2

On large files (approximately 1 mb) the operation of inserting spaces takes several minutes.

CPU: Intel® Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz × 2 RAM: 3 GiB System: Linux 4.4.0-53-generic i686
