No release?

I'm not even sure if I can use this mod for what I'm looking to do (replace the current exiting sprites in the game), but there isn't a release to even use to mess around with ahah. If we could get one posted that would be great!

Hey there! Yeah I got sidetracked after the project hit a milestone. This mod is meant to be a custom story creator for the game, turning it into your own visual novel engine, BUT you should absolutely be able to simply change all of the in-game sprites without writing any new dialogue - your sprite-swapped version of the game would show up in a new "Customs" menu on the main menu, and the story should progress as usual.

Give me maybe the next week or two and I could put together a release that you can drop into your game directory. From there, the repo's wiki should contain all of the information to make any changes you want to the game (though I'll double-check that what you want to do is clearly laid-out, since your use case wouldn't need 90% of that information in the wiki).
