Valley Width Intepretation #5

I'm trying to infer what my valley width is based off the Flood-Prone Width & Cross-Sectional Profile of the Valley Near CHaMP Point graphs, however, there's a weird w-curve that's occurring when I insert my DpthBf_Max in the R-code. Would the valley width in this case just be when the graph first enters/exits the x-intercept... & the w-shaped curve would just be an 'abstraction' worth mentioning in the discussion?

That looks like a situation where slightly higher banks develop surrounding a lower valley-- this can happen when sediment is deposited during flood stage and is a common pattern in deltas. At flood stage, the full valley width is probably inundated here, from just over 200m to nearly 300m on that graph. Additionally, those depressions on either side of the banks are probably "hydrologically connected" to the river through groundwater flows. The banks could even be man-made berms...

Does your profile look similar to this ?
