Hi @reikopm,

Thank you for the BIOM files and the associated README you so kindly shared! I am looking forward to include MBARI data in our efforts to build a global omics observatory community!

Do you happen to know whether the associated raw data is publicly available and if so where to find the INSDC accession numbers?

We'd like to reproduce a few OTU tables using different in silico technologies to get a sense of variability from the amplicon analysis methods across observatories.

I am currently working on extracting the metadata from the BIOM files. @pieterprovoost, I saw that you created a PR on behalf of this in the biom-format repository. Would you mind pinging me when it goes through?

Also, I think this dataset (shared in sample_data/MBARI) would be a good fit for #13.
