SYZ strong motion vs BB station instrumentations show discrepancies over at least a period 2013-2016

1- A first fix was made on the obsidian 8x SM response. (2022) Correction does not explain all in that SYZ case most likely

I would dismiss the usage of ANY of the SYZ 200 Hz HN triggered streams after 2013

1. Period 2013.043 to 2015.437: Triggering process was getting the HH files instead of the HN files hence HH=HN - any strong motion measure is irrelevant Use BN 50 Hz instead Need action and tickets to check that:
   • this feature on the triggered 200Hz is not widespread over the national network for long period of times.
   • to correct and amend the data archive of wrong data set. The reason is unknown: probably data logger configuration
2. From 2017.05.22 to now the strong motion shows a deteriorated signal at 200 Hz - Strong motion is useless most likely. Need action to Fix and tickets to replace the Strong motion installation.

as a conclusion:

Since 2022 the SM response was corrected for the SM installation from 2017 to now

• SM Metadata correction is not sufficient
• Do not use the SYZ HN it is crap most of the time apparently from 2013 .
• This Now 2022 needs a new install most likely
• Use the BN from 2013 to 2015.
• Need documenation and actions on the data themselves (200Hz are lots for a period of time) Close upon acceptance :)

• The archives will be cleared of wrong HN strong motion 200Hz triggered files fro the period 2013.043 to 2015.437 75 (3 comp) files HN strong motion Purged - BN is available instead.
• The strong motion instrument at SYZ will be replaced upon availability to enable strong motion recordings at this site. Strong motion recordings at SYZ (Far south) are deemed to be used with caution from 22 May 2017 to now.
• SYZ BB weak motion looks okay.
