@njhillson @neilswainston @Zulko @eoberortner I only have an Arm64 based server with LXC available that is visible to the world. Running docker in this is a nightmare...as I just found out the long and hard way. Therefore I would like to ask you guys if any of you could supply a server for running a docker.
Do we have any cash available to run it on Amazon / Google / wherever? Assuming will only be around $10 per month?
I set up a google cloud compute project. @gled0n @PSchickling @Lukas-Fuchs @yashkharbanda please start the docker containers for showing and test-driving there.
Might be worth reading...
unfortunately I'm not an expert when it comes down to deploying docker containers in the cloud. Can anybody or the GBA effort to pay some money each month? Also, I don't know if we can host something here at Berkeley Labs. Maybe @njhillson can comment on this?!
@jkabisch is it all fine and working with Google cloud compute? If not, I talked to our manager and we're happy to provide a digital ocean droplet from our account, if that helps. It's pretty easy to setup docker droplets on these.
@gled0n @PSchickling @Lukas-Fuchs @yashkharbanda Valentin offered resources (see above) if google cloud compute turns out to be difficult to be set up. We can discuss this this evening.
@Zulko we discussed your offer and would be very happy if the students could please deploy a droplet on your digital oceans account. Please contact them directly with the required details. Thanks!
Thanks for the server. The project is deployed at http://46.101.115.184/.
Next time it will be a secured connection.
Would it be possible to deploy a web server (possibly behind a IP filter or authentication/authorization mechanism) for folks to try out the web app?
