[Bug] Sonic X Shadow Generations Chaos Control Crash #165

Open Kurosaki77 opened 4 weeks ago

Kurosaki77 commented 4 weeks ago

Description of the issue

The Shadow Generations portion of the game crashes whenever I Chaos Control. The Sonic Generations portion runs flawlessly. From what I've heard and seen, this only happens with AMD GPUs (this issue isn't present with NVIDIA GPUs)

Reproduction steps

anywhere in the shadow generations portion, press ZL to Chaos Control and then after 5-10 seconds the game crashes

I also have it when loading the game and when trying to get the smooth camera code to work but the code for it on emulator isn't.

I had the same issue on 1.2.72, I tried it on the canary build of 1.2.30 and it seems to be resolved on there. Mind giving the canary build a go and see if it fixes it for you as well?

I just looked at the canary builds. its just the source code, not an actual release

They did not mean the headless version, they meant canary 1.2.30, which you can get from here

thank you, I just tried it and it still crashes. the problem is probably my AMD hardware, cause this issue never happens with NVIDIA GPUs. I guess I'll have to wait for an update that fixes this

I have the same issue here on both my 6750XT and my Steam Deck. From most of the reports I've seen on this particular issue, it seems more likely than not to be an issue with AMD GPUs (I didn't seen anyone with Nvidia/Intel GPUs have this issue from my research, but i could be mistaken). Sadly I don't have an Nvidia GPU on hand to test with though. Just tested with Canary 1.2.68 on both aforementioned mentioned systems I have.
