Hey Daylien, thanks!
Yes both of these things are points on my list that I need to address.
The first happens because the kernel that ships with Mint is now newer than the one I provide. I need to keep my builds up to date but it simply takes a long time to build it, think 4+ hours, then even more to test. I will run a up to date build today.
The second happens because I build a very module rich version of the kernel, which means it will load almost any device that is supported by Linux but also means the kernel is very bloated with stuff that isn't strictly loaded for the E200h. Another thing that's on my plate and I will do in the next week or so (either I finish it today or sometime after next Wednesday) is to have a lightweight version of the kernel that has strictly what's necessary for the e200h, that should make it both quick to compile and very small.
A last thing that I need to do is get the script to better clean up after itself.
I try to keep this alive as much as possible but I barely use my e200h and have just finished exams a couple of weeks ago so as you can imagine I've been quite busy.
Thanks you for the work! I have just run your script ./e200ha_with_sound.sh on my asus R209H (dual boot linux mint 18.1 64 and window$) and now I have sound and touchpad running grate!! Thanks a lot! JL
Hey J!
Glad you got it working! How are you dualbooting on 32GB of space? Is SD booting working by any chance? I hadn't considered doing that.
Hey, It is not a simple E200HA, fortunately I have 128Go of space!
Hello, I would be very interested to know how you could be using an Asus R209H with 128Gb or disk space ... Is it a by chance a special version or what? To my knowledge all the X205ta/E200ha variants have just 32Gb of emmc onboard.
First of all, awesome project!
But i have some issues on Linux Mint 18.1. The installation process of the script works good but after the reboot my old kernel was loaded so i must set in the grub config your custom kernel with
GRUB_DEFAULT="Advanced options for Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64-bit> Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64-bit, with Linux 4.10.0-custom"
Perhaps you have an better solution for this.
And another problem is that after the Kernel installation my Disk usage is now by 11 GB before the installation ~6 GB. I have run Disk Usage Analyzer and it say that the folder /usr/lib/debug/lib/modules/4.10.0-custom contain ~4.8 GB.
