MinimOSD not working at all #64

Maybe I'm so stupid, but I cant get it working.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I bought http://store.3drobotics.com/products/apm-minimosd-rev-1-1
Than I soldered on 6x1 pins and 3x2 pins.
I connected it by original cable in to port marked as "Telem."
http://ardupilot.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/apmsideentry1-300x176.jpg

I plugged in Camera (gnd, video)
I plugged Video out to video TX (before that I tried to plug camera straight to
Tx and was working all good (without OSD))
Than I switched on APM2.5
OSD start lighting with red LED but it did not send ani stream out.

I did couple of test and I finished just with

5V from BEC in to 5V on OSD
GND from BEC in to GND in OSD
vidOUT from osd in to video TX
and GND from OSD in to GND at video tx

It is not showing anything. Notjing like starting up, no warning, no osd no
image from camera... nothing..

Of cource that i tried to upload last firmware, updated charset all on Minim
OSD by Config osd2.0 and FTDI cable.

I have no Idea what to try next... and what could be wrong.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
APM 2.5
OSD 1.1

If you have any Idea what could be wrong, please let me know.
Thanks
Jan

Please, try to isolate the problem. I would suggest you to plug the video_OUT
to the composite input of a NTSC or PAL TV monitor and you'll see if it has the
OSD overlay or not. If not, please, contact 3DR for a hardware support.

Hi, with 3DR support I solved the problem which was in 12V at video part.
I did not understand it correctly at wiki manual that 12V at video part is
must. I thought it is optional.
Since I put there 12V it is working all good.
Thanks 3DR support for your great and quick help!

The 12V feed is necessary when the two stages aren't tied. ;)
I'm happy that you've solved it with 3DR support help.

I joined the two solder pads to feed the video chip with 5V directly from the
digital side, how can I upload new charset now? Will I burn my board if I still
feed the video side with 12V?
