Context and Problem Statement

Using an AI powered coding assistant can increase productivity. Which, if any, should we use?

Google Codey
GitHub Copilot Your AI pair programmer
Amazon CodeWhisperer Build applications faster and more securely with your AI coding companion
ChatGPT
Tabnine AI assistant that speeds up delivery and keeps your code safe
None (considering bans by Samsung, Apple, etc on staff using them)

Have been experimenting with using TabNine (with the Mistral setting) to write draft docstrings & unit tests in Python packages - have found that this improves clarity & would recommend. Do we have an update on policy in this area? May depend to some degree on how 'novel' we think the codebase being edited is.
