Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Playing TOD2 (Tales of Destiny 2)
2. After the final battle and the FMV play for a while
3. Then this PCSX2 crash, with 2 message in console:
   Invalid macroblock_type code: 0
vtlb miss : addr 0xF3BA04DC, mode 1 [write]

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The FMV should go on, but the pcsx2 crash.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I use pcsx2 SVN 630

And my equipment:
CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 @ stock
RAM : 2G-DDR2-800
VideoCard : Nvidia Geforce 8600GT 256M
OS : Windows XP Professional with SP2

My setting:
CPU : All On, with Normal/Limit/VUSkip all the same
No Gamefix used
Speed Hack : Use x2 Cycle (Apply all right selections give the same result)
Advanced : Default (Flush to Zero give same result)

Video : GSDX SVN
Sound : Zeros SPU2 / SPU2-X 1.1
CDRom : Linzu DVD 0.8

Please provide any additional information below.
The Tales of Destiny 2 I have is Traditional Chinese version.
It's CRC=e5ab2284
All other FMVs before play normally, only this 1 crash.

Sorry...
I retried with Use x1.5 Cycle
And it's OK...

Sorry again...
The final FMV of TOD2 crashes even in Default cycle rate
And the message is
vtlb miss: addr 0xF3B9C8DC, mode 1 [write]

Are you also using the INTC hack option enabled, or disabled?

I just tried it again with no speed hack.
The result is the same.
And error message had no change.

I also tried that,
In x3 mode : sound of FMV broken
In x2 mode : OK for most FMV, but last 2 FMV crash
In x1.5 and default : OK for all FMV escept last 1 (Ending + Staff).

Seems pcsx2 can't play long FMV. >_<

Nah, it's just this particular FMV. Since it's affected by cycle rates, it
means the
DMA timings fail at some point, and the game encounters an unexpected or
invalid DMA
state when it's not ready for it.

It's not going to be easy to fix, most likely, but we'll keep it in mind as a
game to
use for testing when we implement new IPU code and better DMA/event support.

Thanks.
Expect for these FMVs, some random crash after battle
(it's become more stable in recent revisions)
and some strange slowdown,
this game works good.

I just finished this game with some recent revisions without any problem. Maybe
you
should try them out ;)
