Hello again,

In order to the issue of customizable keyboards I've attached a PDF file. The 
idea probably need extra programming, but could make it easier to make many 
different keyboards.

As you see in the file, I designed a generic keyboard with 42 keys. To define 
each area I created a grid of 7x6 cells. To do this I had to sacrifice the 
actual ratio, making the keys slightly narrower.

Through a graphical interface, you could set a key or shortcut for each cell 
(shortcuts for Photoshop, Final Cut, etc).

There is a power button, and buttons to switch between keyboards, numpads and 
customizable keyboards. The good thing is that the numpads can also be made 
from the customizable.

Once designed the keyboard, the program would generate skin with only the 
chosen keys to leave the rest free to use as a trackpad. This skin also can be 
printed, of course.

On the info buttons, it lights up a kind of LED to indicate whether the shift 
key is on, which of the customizable keyboard is active, and so on.

I am not a programmer, so I do not know if I suggest something very 
complicated, but I think it has potential. Let me know what you think, okay?

Layout customizability through a GUI is something planned for the long term 
(i.e. version 1.0 or 2.0), but it's something I'd really like to implement in 
MK.

I like this idea (and I especially like the graphics you provided), it indeed 
has quite a lot of potential. But it'll take some time to implement.  I'll 
start working on it once I solved some bugs and coded the backend features it 
requires.
