Crashes springboard when installed on iPad running spirit jailbreak. Any
plans for support?

can you give more details? What version did you install?
Where are you getting the crashes etc etc...

I have installed multiple versions (S, Q, R) on my Wi-Fi iPad and Springboard
crashes
every time I receive a push notification from IM+. Receiving an e-mail
occasionally
crashes it too (cannot seem to reproduce with regularity). I also cannot save
any
settings in the Settings.app -- I checked the file permissions in
/Library/Grip/Tickets/ and they are owned by mobile and world writable.

Can you please try the one in the bottom of this link? It's the most stable up
to
date release - And report back please

Installed the most stable release as requested and experienced the same issues.
Settings do not save (any of them), selecting Game Mode settings crashes
Settings.app
(but does not crash Springboard), and selecting any Per-Priority Settings also
crashes Settings.app.

For now I have been able to change various settings (increased width, expand by
default, disabled push) by manually editing through iFile. I would prefer to
have
Grip control my push settings, but have not yet found a way for it to run
without
crashing Springboard.

Do you have any other apps installed that could conflict with it, or is this on
a
freshly JB iPad? SBSettings or any other mobile substrate add ons?

I have SBSettings, Backgrounder, FullForce and StatusNotifier installed.

I don't experience springboard crashes (yet, anyway), however, I do not receive
any notifications via
GriP. Also my setting changes don't seem to apply when changed. I really would
like to see some iPad
support if at all possible. Thank you.

I've also been experiencing Im+ and springboard instability on my ipad while
trying to use grip with Im+.
Its quite sad since I need my chat and grip is so great.

Hmm, I don't have an iPad to test on.
Can you copy across the files from your iphone via SSH (from a version of grip
you
know is working) and try putting them on the iPad? Perhaps moving across the
plist
and the mobilesubtrate items from the iphone may work?

This guy says it is working:

http://iphonehelp.in/2010/05/18/grip-growl-like-notifications-on-your-apple-ipad
/

Quote " check it out the Cydia app Grip on our Apple iPad and it does a really
sweet
job. GriP is a notification tool released via Cydia and very similar to the
famous
Growl notification system.

It provides a really nice push notification based interface which is much
easier to
read, more eye-catching and a better alternative to pop-ups. Notifications are
shown
in the top-right section of the springboard and it hard takes up any space.

It is also very easy to configure, you access it via the Settings app and
modify the
position of the notifications, you can also change the theme choose the colors
to
apply on different alerts, change the time an alert is displayed and also have
a
preview of how an alert will look.

Once an alert appears on the springboard you can directly go to the app or
close it
by tapping on ‘x’. I have been using this app for some time now and the
best thing I
have felt is that it is not at all annoying. It is a really smart alternative
to
many other notification apps.

Also Works on iPhone and iPod Touch.

Repository / Source: iSpazio (http://ispaziorepo.com/cydia/apt/)"

Can you try the version from iSpazio? Does it work?

OK so it seems emails work fine, but any push notification sends the iPad into
respring mode. Perhaps the way push notifications work has changed on the iPad.
You can change settings on the iPad, change the width and "always expanded"
items
then close GrIP without testing. The settings are then saved.
If you want to use it JUST for emails, simply go into per app settings and turn
of
push notifications settings. I'll do some research into why push isn't working.

I also have the same issue where GriP crashes springboard when getting a
notification from beejive. I also noticed that if I try to view the
notification log, it crashes. Any info I can give to help?
