[BUG] Port documentation and installation scripts for release v0.6.0 #1058

Describe the bug

The code on the development and docs branch needs to be updated for the release v0.6.0.

Expected behavior

  1. A new branch v0.6 gets created
  2. The code and docs on this branch become ready for release
  3. All the installation docs work for all scenarios. They should work for both Windows and Linux
