InfluxDB feature should also send disk usage #535

Open dgoetz opened 1 year ago

dgoetz commented 1 year ago

Expected Behavior

We would like to integrate a dashboard for disk usage at the service for VMs using the Grafana module with InfluxDB as backend filled by vSphereDB. In the future also the same will be needed for Datastores.

Current Behavior

The InfluxDB feature sends performance data for many values like disk io data for VMs, but is missing disk usage (per filesystem). There is only a checkcommand to monitor this.

Possible Solution

Data are also send to InfluxDB.

Your Environment

I would like to extend this further, and say not just disk usage, but potentially a selectable list of available counters that could be selected to send to influx.

Hi,

Indeed, this feature is long waited! Meanwhile, do you know if there may be workarounds?

@Wintermute2k6 May you explain what this ref means? This feature would be so nice, so every progress is looked upon.

Customer requested that the vspheredb checks write proper perfdata output .. which they don't do ATM ..
