[v0.8.3] Hard crash when talking to the Thraddash help thread... #251

This topic is for those that are crashing after befriending the Thraddash and how to solve the crash that doesn't involve starting the game over from the beginning.

We got several options at our disposal here if you haven't picked up the Aqua Helix.

UPDATE: Kruzen has informed me that the best option is to just go into the options and turn off the voices while interacting with the Thraddash. Since the error happens when loading the audio.

  1. Load a save before you allied with them and let them name themselves.
  2. If you haven't already, send the Ilwrath after them and steal the Helix, losing their alliance
  3. Wait for the Kohr-Ah to wipe out a few races so you can pick up the needed devices.

If you've already picked up the Aqua Helix, just ignore the Thraddash, there's literally nothing more you can learn from them that you can't learn elsewhere.

Have this issue as well, just updated to 8.3. Thanks for the advise, will try this.

For me it crashes when i talk to them the first time right after allying with them, when they are greeting me in pig latin.

I had heard that now they can survive the illwrath and will let you take helix if friends so i wanted to see that.
