Hello :) I am using a joycon on windows 10 home 64bit with bluetooth. I have connected the joycon to the computer. The bluetooth settings say paired. When I push a button on the controller, it changed to connected, yet the controller lights keep blinking. When I open and execute the JSM exe file, I get 0 devices connected. I have refreshed, repaired, turned off driver signing, used vjoy as an alternative driver etc.

I cannot get the program or possibly the issue is the joycon to the computer connection, to work. :( Let me know if I can provide more information to see what may be causing this to not detect. Hope all is well!

Hey Jibb! THANK YOU so far for the awesome help! Going to donate to you soon in the support link on that video description we were chatting in :)

SO, here is the interesting thing. I have two different types of switch controllers. lol. I didnt notice before but one is a bit larger than the other(maybe a china made one). But they DO in fact behave different. The nintendo one: This one is the one having issues connecting. I thought they were the same controllers so I charged the other ones and thats when those worked with JSM. SO, the nintendo ones (I think official) dont do anything with JSM but do work for my nes emulator really well for button mapping :) MARIO IS FUN AGAIN! haha.

The unofficial one: THis one connects to JSM right away and also shows player 1 light only, where the official still scans the lights but shows connected. ALSO these unofficial ones are the ones that show up as game controllers, but not as joycons lol they show up as pro controller! Which is interesting but hey its working :) except the SL SR still.

So, I just downloaded the 1.3.0 again from the link to the updated version on github where this is, and no change with SL and SR on the unofficial ones that work better. SO, Im thinking because it is unofficial they may just not work at all no matter what is coded in, because strangely they do not have a sync button. They sync by holding the gyro reset buttons at the bottom, just as if we were to connect a regular controller that is already paired.

WHew, sorry that was a lot haha :P But hey this is ok because I can double map right? I noticed I can code in the txt for multiple mapping held versus tapped which is a HUGE help!

Either way, if you want to chime in take your time, it seems to be more so the controller I purchased and that maybe they are just "different" even though the official I got new from Gamestop. Idk if the serial is different but I do know that when I was playing with the wii controllers only a certain serial worked for me too. Sooooo they may have different serial numbers where the old ones work but the new ones will give me issues. Had the SAME thing with wii(I still have the wii controller that works :P) Its the original one first serial. The new ones dont. Weird huh?

Anyhow, again thank you so much for the activity and help! Most of the time as a dev it is tough to keep up with everyone! So, thank you for that :)

Hey Jason! Thanks for all the info. Looks like it'll be really helpful. I'm at my real job at the moment, but I'll try get to it soon, and we'll figure this out 🙂

I super appreciate your patience!

And of course, any support will be very much appreciated, but you're under no obligation! I'm glad you're reaching out about obstacles you're facing with JSM instead of just giving up on it and never telling me 👍

Alright. So let's catch up on where we were from other correspondence.

  1. Your unofficial Joy-Cons are working, but not SL and SR?
  2. Your official Joy-Cons are not working at all with JSM. But... a. They work with Steam and other programs b. They don't show up in your Game Controllers view in Windows... c. You had some issues with your Corsair keyboard wanting control of the Game Controllers window, but this was resolved by using a USB 2.0 slot instead of USB 3.0. So your official Nintendo Joy-Cons show up as Game Controllers now?
