Update PRISM_Metadata_for_Gates_Data_Exchange.xlsx Cleanup the raw data dir on Dropbox

Hi Jon--

I hope this note finds you well! I'm Jess with the Foundation's Data Science and Engineering team working on the Gates Data Exchange (GDx). The GDx is a central repository and catalog of data in a secure platform that enables our teams to efficiently and securely manage and share the data and analysis critical to their work. I've attached our GDx Overview Deck for your reference.

We've been working with Edward Wenger to determine the best way to work with IDM teams to rationalize and migrate their data into the GDx. We've identified the following datasets as ones we want to prioritize for migration before the end of the year due to their location on Dropbox, the personally identifiable information (PII) they may contain, or their specific data sharing agreements (or lack thereof):

Partner Data Description Source of Data Current Usage (as of March) Malaria Uganda University of California, San Francisco; IDRC, Kampala, Uganda Active

I'd love to meet to discuss how we can work together to get these datasets migrated from their source systems and onto a secure system such as GDx. Would you have time for a quick meeting the week of 12/14 to discuss a plan for migration and the GDx more broadly?

If you would prefer a lower lift option due to competing priorities and time, please respond with the following information and complete the following actions:

  1. Are these datasets still in use or can they be deleted? – If any of them are no longer needed, we ask that you delete them from Dropbox or your local system for purposes of risk mitigation
  2. For datasets that are still in use, please provide access to Jessica.Chung@gatesfoundation.org along with any data descriptions or metadata. Examples of metadata are attached in the metadata template. I will upload the data to the Data Exchange. Once I have done so, I will ask you to review and then ask you to delete the source files from Dropbox or your local system.
  3. If it’s not possible to provide me with access to the data, then please let me know and I will set up some time for us to meet.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Thank you so much for your time and partnership as we work to secure these datasets!

Kind regards,
