Spanish officials appear to control most of the narrative around their colonisation of Teōtihuahcān.
Justification
Two significant works were produced in the sixteenth century about the Spanish "conquest" of Teōtihuahcān. Cortés' Letters made it seem he had run a successful and rather one-sided campaign. Sahagún's Historia, on the other hand, was developed with indigenous populations. The narratives resulting from the colonisation, thus, provide interesting insights into the spread of the views of those in power, as well as the importance of amplifying local voices to gain richer and more accurate accounts of historical events.
