Or Venkman? The version of Venkman in Classilla/Moz 1.3 is also grotesquely old
and
out of date, though in fairness I know of no serious problems with it.

I do not use Mail, Composer, or IRC om WamCom. But with that said, I think that
the
Mail portion of Mozilla is fairly full featured. Of course it is free and open,
which
is of good value.

Mail is probably the least likely to go away, but I would like some input from
people
who are using WaMCoM for mail already as they are the target audience.
Composer will probably break with the layout updates planned for 9.0.5-9.1 and
I'll
probably deprecate it with 9.0.4 unless there is a loud outcry.

Accepting DOM Inspector as supported, as it was very invaluable for debugging
9.0.
This also might change after the 9.0.5 updates land, but we'll see.

Wallet and keywords?

Executive decision: pending the JavaScript update, Chatzilla will either be
deprecated (still works) or removed (breaks) by 9.0.4. If deprecated, it will be
removed from the icon bar, but still accessible from the menus, and its
preferences
will be marked as deprecated. Also starting Chatzilla will generate a warning.

Mail is not of much use unless it can speak modern SSL (does it?); this will be
a
pain point going forward, as many/most service providers now require a modern
implementation of SSL.

Like I say, I don't use Classilla for mail and I never used WaMCom for it
either. In
fact, my mail isn't even accessible via POP or IMAP, so I am definitely not the
target audience.
If someone would like to do some banging on the mail system, I'll all ears for
their
findings. Really it needs someone to test it thoroughly.
As far as other features, wallet is staying for the moment. DOM Inspector and
Venkman
are doing okay with the current changes in 9.0.4-internal. Chatzilla
deprecation will
be done at time of release.

Say goodbye >
Chat, mail - never used in NS 7+, Moz 1.2.1 - WaMCom 1.3.1 - Classilla 9.0.
Composer only played with once.
Wallet also never used.
Save the following >
DOMi & Venkman are keepers.
Some people may find keywords useful. (OR irritating. I'm the latter.)
Just my opinions.

I use Mail & News since Navigator 2, whithout big troubles.
There is only 2 POP3 mail clients whith html support for Mac Os 9 (MS Outlook
and
Nescape-WanCom-Classilla)
classilla is the only one reliable.
In my opinion Mail & News is a very valuable addon to Classilla.
I also like Composer.
In terms of simplicity I prefer to focus on a bit more usable version of
PPEmbed than
removing Mail&News and Composer from Classilla.
Ok to remove IRC Chat.

I'm committing to maintaining Mailnews for the current future; you and others
have
written in to request that it stay.

Chatzilla is now removed from the internal build of 9.1. The chatzilla.dtd used
by
Venkman has been moved into the global jar and renamed, but I have left Cmd-3
intentionally unallocated so that people's habitual keyboard shortcuts still
work the
same.

I use Mail in Classilla with lavabit.com's POP and SMTP support (SSL port 995),
and have no issues whatsoever. The only issues I've seen are with certain spam
emails, and those are usually from countries outside of the US, and generally
using a language that Classilla doesn't support.

Noted. I'm going to revise the summary since I have no plans to remove mailnews
for the foreseeable future.
It is possible that DOM Inspector and the Editor may not survive the layout
update. Speak now if this is important. I'll preserve them if I can, but if I
can't and there is no mourning I shall retire them. Venkman should not be
affected by it.
