Vehicle Open - Yellow Triangle - can't dismiss #354

Open flyingbrett opened 3 years ago

flyingbrett commented 3 years ago

Hi, I just bought the "watch for Tesla" app, downloaded it etc Within a day - it displayed "Yellow Triangle Vehicle Open... unlocked...Driver Door" The lock image is semi locked and greyed out.

In reality, the door is locked. I have used the Tesla Key, the mobile Tesla app etc - opened and locked but it remains stubbornly stuck. Could you please advise how to fix it. Thanks Brett

Hey @flyingbrett

Can you verify the counter in the top bar has a low-ish value like 3s and counting up, indicating the app got new data from your car?

Sounds like it might have gotten stuck with old data.

The locked info comes from the Tesla api, so if the data is fresh, then the Tesla api reflects the car as being unlocked.

Hi Kim, The top bar says “Waking (1hr)” I did adjust the interval to 5hrs when I was adjusted the settings but have now shifted it back to 1hr.

Hey @flyingbrett

The wake time in settings relate only to background actions. When the app is in foreground it will always try to wake immediately.

Waking can in worst case take a couple of minutes, so please try to keep the app open for a couple minutes and verify the titlebar reflects 3s and counting up - then check if app still reports vehicle as unlocked.

If state never goes out of Waking, please go to settings, tap show debug and see if there is any log output under authentication events.

Cheers,

Kim

Hi Kim, The top line doesn’t change - still Waking (1hr) In debug - under authentication events it says 6:32pm Post data error. no response. The request timed out: retrying2. It did this every minute to 6:36pm. At 7:56pm Post data error. no response. The network connection was lost.

This is a new car - 1x week old. It hasn’t connected with my home network, despite the home network being accessible on my mobile phone. It did pick up the network on my solar panel inverter!

Regards Brett

@flyingbrett

It sounds like the vehicle is disconnected entirely then. You can verify this directly in the vehicle.

Unfortunately 3rd party apps can only communicate with the vehicle through the Tesla api online - and not via Bluetooth as the official app can. So if either device - vehicle or phone/watch is disconnected, the app won't work.

flyingbrett commented 3 years ago

Hi Kim, Yes, that makes sense. The car is only a week old and Tesla connectivity died after 4x days! I am learning that Tesla is very different to BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche cars and service. Oh well. I will contact Tesla about the connectivity problem. Thanks Brett
