Hmm this raises some good questions.
Long form idea submission that uses images, etc. to convey what the user wants should probably be directed to the github issue board (though I imagine people will be adverse to creating gh accounts).
I intended to have a leaderboard that tracks ideas, but submitting ideas via the doc/gh issues wouldn't count as it would count the number of /idea submit
's per user. This leaderboard was meant to be just an estimate of the number of ideas submitted (to encourage users to submit more ideas), so this inaccurate count could be fine.
So:
/idea
and via github issues. /idea
command:
Do we wanna add the "completed" ideas here and mark them as complete for tracking?
- Or add github issue creation automation to it, having the user specify the title and description (I feel this would help encourage and make it super easy for users to submit small form ideas)
I like this, gonna make an issue for it EDIT: #48
Comb through the Discord Bot Ideas doc and convert everything to issues

*There are 2 separate ways to submit ideas as a user now, those being the doc and the >ideas command. With the issues list we would have 3 separate boards for writing issues. Do we want to keep this current system, or can we ideally redirect users to write issues directly in the repo itself (with instructions on how to do so in place of the old idea submission forms)? If we switch to the direct issue submission, we would have to enforce searching through the issue board to ensure the user isn't creating a duplicate issue, which is unfortunately not automatic unlike in GitLab. For those who don't follow enforcing we can mark as duplicate
