2 years ago Thanks Shawna, are you following up with the QA service to request addition of ORCID lookups in Sinopia? I'm not sure there's anything to do at this point on the Sinopia side. If we have an ORCID lookup, we can expose that for catalogers to use, but doesn't ORCID record which are authenticated and which are not? So as long as we have the ORCID URI I don't think Sinopia needs to keep track of which are authenticated. Please let me know if you envision something different. Re Sinopia writing to ORCID records, we don't have plans to do that at this time, but Sinopia does have an API where other systems can get records. https://ld4p.github.io/sinopia_api/

Authenticated ORCID iD - We strongly encourage authenticating ORCID iDs to ensure the correct iD has been assigned to the author and work. Unauthenticated display guidelines are below. https://info.orcid.org/documentation/api-tutorials/api-tutorial-get-and-authenticated-orcid-id/
Writing to ORCID records - it would be wonderful if records created in Sinopia could be written to the author's ORCID record. Sinopia can become a Certified Service Provider (free) which enables ORCID members to write content to records. https://info.orcid.org/certified-service-providers/
A quick comment about adding ORCID iDs to records, we're thrilled about the inclusion of our iDs into records created by Sinopia. If the iD is not authenticated by the researcher, our brand guidelines are as follows,
Unauthenticated iDs should be displayed using one of the options above, followed by text such as “(unconfirmed)”, “(unverified)” or “(unauthenticated)”, or the equivalent in the local language:
