When using this repo to create a tex document, it is not obvious (or wasn't obvious to me) where to put the blbliography. greping for the references in the tutorial pdf led me to lsstdesc.bib, but that is marked "DO NOT EDIT". main.bbl gets overwritten every time I run make tex. I did not notice the empty main.bib file that was created. If you could explicitly mention main.bib somewhere in the documentation, it would make it easier for tex muggles (like me) to find. Thanks.

Good suggestion. Just as a clarification, main.bib is present in the source code and we are calling bibtex to create the main.bbl file.
