Steps to replicate:

  1. Have two games. Set the developers to "Valve" and "Valve Software" respectively.
  2. Set a new replacement item under 'Company.' Set name to "Valve Software" and select "Items Replaced" to Valve.
  3. Run the replacer.

Following these steps, I end up with two "Valve Software" entries.
