Thank you, glad you like KouChat :)
1. This is already implemented in the development version of 1.3.0. See issue
32. You can use the link in the issue to download and test. See the FAQ as well
for details.
2. I received another suggestion in issue 37 regarding sound and vibration on
new messages in Android. Is that what you want? Or something else?
In the Windows version you can enable balloons in the settings to get more
visible notifications.
3. The Android version can already send files. You have to use the "share"
feature of Android. If you open an image in the gallery, and press the share
button, you should find KouChat in the list of application to share with.
Similar with other applications that supports sharing.

Hello again!
Thank you for urgent answer!)
1. I realised now that I use 1.2.0 version. Could you send me the link to
download ver. 1.3.0.? I didn't find issue 32 and where to download it.
2. Sound and vibro would be a good idea to do in Android! And it would be a
good idea to enable pop-up notification too. I know, you can say that it
already is there, but it is inside android tray and invisible if not to open
it. I use Android 4.2.2.
In my opinion, the best realisation of it is to do like in SMS app of Android:
pop-up window and number on the icon of app. (see pic. 1)
Thank you describe me what "baloons" means.) English is not my native language,
I'm Russian.
3. About sending files in Android. Now I tried to do it, to send files (.doc,
.pdf, .jpg, etc...) from tablet to PC (installed Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit), but
the same bug always appeared. Take a look at screenshots I'm sending you (pic.
bug1-4). Meanwhile, messages beetween tablet and PC are coming well.
4. And one more thing I've forgotten... When program in Windows PC already
opened and you are clicking again shortcut of KouChat, opens another one window
with another one user with some number as a nick. It's not convenient (See pic.
Double-opening). Better this command should open already existing user from
tray or from taskbar in this case.
Thank you!

Screenshots are great! So much easier to understand.
1. The link is here: issue 32
2. I'm not sure about the popup notification. I have heard a lot of complaints
about apps that do this. Thanks for the suggestion though. I will have to think
about it. Which SMS app do you use in the screenshot?
3. I see that your file manager is using a different protocol for file sharing
than the file manager I use. What file manager is it? I will see if I can get a
fix in the next version.
4. Why open KouChat from the shortcut more than once, if it's not to start more
instances? I use the multiple instance support in KouChat a lot when testing,
and I know others use it on terminal servers.

1. Thank you! I've downloaded it.
But starting Kouchat minimized not going on... take a look on screensots, may
be I'm doing smth wrong... I create shortcut, changing it's properties, copy it
to autorun folder. But after PC rebooting Kouchat opens again in separate
window...
2. May be so, but this notifications are made switchable. SMS app was
preinstalled in Android 4.2.2.
3. File manager was preinstalled too. Take a look at screenshots.
4. Ok, It's clear. I understood. It's not a real problem, I think)
Thank you!
PS: I don't know how to make script for autorun (FAQ p.21), could you describe
me how to do it. Thanks again.)

1. See screenshot. Add --minimized to the shortcut command to start KouChat. I
don't understand the letters in your screenshot, but it sounds like you managed
to get it starting automatically on reboot. If not, here is a guide:
http://www.wikihow.com/Change-Startup-Programs-in-Windows-7
2. I'm not sure if that is the default SMS app in Android. What kind of tablet
do you have?
3. Android does not come with a file manager, so it might be something custom
made for your tablet. I'll find something to test.
4. Good :)

Thank you help to solve this problem.

Is it able to clear messages in android app?
Thank you!

1. Good, no problem :)
3. OK, thanks for the details. I'm able to reproduce the problem, and will
create a fix soon. Would be great if you could test on your tablet when it's
ready, so I know it's really fixed.
I will consider adding KouChat to Yandex. Are there many users there?
Clear messages is not yet implemented in Android. If you need it I might be
able to get it into the next version, depending on the amount of work required.
I'm primarily working on the desktop version at the moment.

Christian, if you'll let me know about fixing, of course I'll test it!
Yandex.ru (.ua, .by, .kz, etc...) is the most popular searching system in
Russia and in other ex-Soviet countries. I think, there are many users should
be there.
It's nothing serious in it, but if it's better to do clearing messages in
Android app, if it's able.
I just want to repeat - there are two unical abilities of your program:
1. Crossplatforming beetween Win and Android (and it really works!)
2. Ability to use Cyrillic letters in chat (it's important!)
I did't find in Internet any other LAN chat program with those abilities any
more.
Thanks!

I have a fix ready for test. You can download the apk from:
https://blurpy.ci.cloudbees.com/job/kouchat-android/lastStableBuild/net.usikkert
.kouchat$kouchat-android-impl/
Note that you probably need to uninstall the old version first, as this
development version is signed with a debug certificate.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm glad KouChat works for you :)
The integration between Android and desktop has been important to me too, as
well as international characters.

Hello, Christian!
It's great!!! Your new version of Android app now works OK sending and
receiving files. I tried to send from (and to) different PC (OS Win7 Ultimate
and WinXP Home) to (and from) Android (4.2.2) tablet and Android (4.4.2)
smartphone. I've sent files from one device to another in different
combinations and it looks like everything is working good by now.
I noticed one thing: When I'm sending files to smartphone (Android 4.4.2),
there are appears pop-up message about file transfer request. But, when I'm
sending files to tablet (Android 4.2.2), there are no such message appears,
notification about file transferring is only in hidden menu I it had to be
opened only manually. I don't know exactely, is it bug of application or smth
incorrect is my tablet settings... Screenshots in attachment.
One more thing: when tablet or smartphone are in sleeping mode, they don't wake
up when receiving files or messages.
So, IMHO, if solve the question of notification receiving messages and files,
it will be the great application)
Thank you!

Great, thanks for testing!
It looks like your version of Android 4.2 is modified in several ways. Google
changed the tablet look in Android 4.2, to look more like the phone version.
I have attached two screenshots. One showing Android 4.1, which looks like your
screenshot, with notifications at the bottom. And another of Android 4.2, which
has notifications at the top. Both show a visible notification when a file
request is received, like your phone screenshot.
If your tablet doesn't get those notifications, then I do not know why, because
it works in stock Android as you can see from my screenshots. Perhaps there is
a setting in your custom Android that can fix it.
I'm not sure what you mean by wake up from sleep mode. You can enable the wake
lock in the settings if you want the cpu to be on. At some point I will add an
option to use sound or vibration.
I've decided to wait with more features in v1.0.2 of KouChat. I will probably
create a release soon with the bugfix you just tested. The clear screen feature
will be in a later version when I have more time.

Great, thanks for testing!
I think we have solved most of the issues discussed here. What is missing now
is:
1. Clear chat. This will be implemented at some point.
2. Sound and vibration when getting notifications. This will be implemented at
some point.
3. Optional popups like your SMS app. I'm not sure about this, but it's on the
maybe-list.
Does that sound right with you?
Original comment by blu...@gmail.com

Looks like that's right.
1. It would be good to do.
2. Sound and vibro with probability to switch them off, if needed.
3. If it's possible to do this switchable too, it would be great.
Thank you!)
