Also see http://lua-users.org/lists/lua-l/2012-07/msg00252.html and my reply. This reportedly replaces LuaInterface 1.5.3 used by LfW (i.e. unlike LuaInterface 2.0, it can use native binary Lua modules), except that the luaopen_luanet function remains for someone to implement.

Perhaps it would also be nice to have a dist for mono. mono currently uses automake. mono provides a C# compiler that should compile LuaInterface.

I have noticed the message and it was in my check out list already. However my experience with mono is limited and I planned to look into this after batteries-1.0 release, update of documentation and luadist.org. Unless you feel like converting another autotools infected project to CMake ..
