Section 1: Introduction to supercomputing and LUMI #14

The first episode/section of the training material. Motivation: Why use LUMI and how it differs from your laptop. Brief overview of the architecture.

I'm unsure whether this should be the first or second section. In some way, having the prerequisites first would make more sense, because then we could in this section already start showcasing/querying some details about LUMI (which requires that you first get access to the system).

Could there be a first section that is about the motivation: "Why to use supercomputing and LUMI" (or something). This section wouldn't go to LUMI-specific details too much (or usage of command line). But would give an introduction of why to use supercomputing and what is a supercomputer (and what it's not) with giving examples of LUMI, (possibly) why to use a supercomputing cluster (instead of cloud environment), links to information how to apply computing resources etc. The second section could be about connecting etc, and a third section about "Introduction to LUMI environment" with information of some LUMI specific things (how to use LUMI once you have connected, useful commands e.g. how to check info of your project and usage of billing units, possibly info about some LUMI specific policies here also)

This third section "Introduction to LUMI environment" (or something) might be unnecessary, as the possibly necessary content (that doesn't fit to disk areas etc) could also be included in the end of the "Prerequisities" section. Maybe we should just keep in mind that a chapter like this could be added, if necessary, but not include it at least yet?
